There are places that do not appear on maps. They are inner territories, suspended between fear and desire, between what we hold back and what longs to emerge. In this “Border Zone,” the body curls inward in a gesture of self-defence and introspection, while the large letters running through the composition become barriers, but also possible passageways. The figure inhabits an ambiguous space: refuge and cage, protection and constraint. It is the fragile yet necessary moment of change, when we must dwell in uncertainty before discovering a new sense of self. Yet every border zone is meant to be crossed, not inhabited. Reflection is necessary, and retreating inward is valuable, but finding a way out becomes essential before this place of passage turns into an invisible prison. For what begins as protection can, over time, become the very boundary that prevents us from growing and moving forward.
