The Choice — La scelta
The canvas becomes a wall with two openings, two possible passageways that invite reflection on the responsibility of choice.
The wider passage, marked by red fading into darkness, evokes the unease of a descent into Dante’s Inferno. It is an accessible path that invites us in without immediately revealing where it leads.
Beside it, a narrow black fissure suggests a possible passage to paradise: an opening so slender it seems almost impassable. The light beyond that boundary remains hidden, waiting to be sought through intuition and resolve.
The work reflects on the deceptive nature of ease: the simplest path may lead into darkness, while the passage towards what we aspire to reach may demand effort, courage, and transformation. Before the wall, the choice remains ours.
